horoscope

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): In my ideal version of Halloween, we wouldn't
scare ourselves with images of ghoulish skeletons, eyeballs floating in
cauldrons, and hissing, three-headed snakes. Rather, we'd confront more
realistic fears, like the possibility that the effects we have on the world
are different from our intentions . . . or that we have not yet reached our
potential . . . or that people we like might completely misread and
misunderstand us. Then Halloween would serve a more spiritually useful
purpose. It would bring us face-to-face with actual dangers to our psychic
integrity, whereupon we could summon our brilliant courage and exorcize
the hell out of them. Costume suggestion: exorcist. (Begin by exorcising
yourself.)

on games, and how entertaining they can be

An amusing rant...

Something that annoys me about the game 'Rock, Paper, Scissors'. Now, I can understand how rock beats scissors, and how scissors beats paper.. but how the fuck does paper beat rock? What does it do? Wrap itself around the rock and leave it immobile? Why can't it do that to scissors? Infact, screw the game, why can't it do that to people? Why aren't students being suffocated by their book as they take notes during a class? I'll tell you why, because paper can't beat anything, a rock would tear paper up in 2 seconds.

When I play rock, paper, scissors I always pick rock, then when somebody claims to have beaten me with their paper, I use my already clenched fist to punch them in the face, and then say, "Oh, sorry, I thought your paper would protect you...."

DISCLAIMER: Dear Person-who-done-wrote-the-above, I'm sorry I don't know who you are, but you are awesome.

on things what are sad and also happy.

So, nana has cancer, poppa probably has cancer, but definitely has dementia and my aunty has been wearing a heart monitor for the past few days and the heart dude from the hospital said (on reading the results) that she needed to get to the hospital for monitoring. And when she said I can be there in an hour, he said "i'm not responsible, if anything happens".
My mum still isn't right either.

On the upside, I done saw Uncle Tom, I discovered Codine and I'm going to an 80's Murder Mystery party tomorrow night.

Also, I forgot, but Clara turned 1 recently, and today, well, today (although a year ago) Clara reached 1815gms and was able to come out of the incubator and get dressed like a real live baby. Imagine. 1.8kgs.

And as is the status quo, I'm home alone on a friday night, the room is hot hot hot from the fire and I've just finished watching BattleStar Galactica.

Also, I'm lawnmower-less. Hopefully not for much longer!

Horoscope

What a nice way to start a new year of my life...

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): An engineering company has plans to grow
flowers on the moon. Paragon Space Development intends to land
mustard seeds inside a small greenhouse dome on the lunar surface by
2011. If all goes well, they will bloom within two weeks, and, thanks to
the marvels of communications technology, we earthlings will soon
thereafter view one of the most iconic photographs ever seen. Paragon
hopes the inspiring image of yellow blossoms on the lunar landscape will
incite a new wave of space exploration. Take your cue from this vignette,
Taurus. Come up with a riveting new personal symbol: some photo or
image or object that thrills your imagination and inspires you to outdo all
your previous efforts in pursuit of an ambitious future goal.

So I found out that a friend of mine has some terrible condition where he can have a great quality of life, but only live for like 5 more years, or he can have some hardcore surgery, end up with a shitty quality of life but live for longer.

He's decided to go with surgery.

If I was in Wellington, we'd drive to the Hutt River, park up on the gravelly bank and get so fucking blazed we'd need to sleep in the back of the car.

I hate that I can't be there.

So, has anyone noticed how many ginga babies are being born just now? Everyone is having them. No jokes, I went to a bbq about 2 weeks ago. There ended up being 7 kids (from 4 different families) under 8 and they were ALL ginga. All of them! It would be an interesting statistic to see what the occurrence of hair colour in babies was compared with their birth dates...

This is strange today.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): "Men build too many walls and not enough
bridges," said Isaac Newton. I agree with that assessment in general, but
I'm going to amend it a bit for your use. In my astrological opinion, you
would benefit from constructing one more wall before embarking on a
bridge-building campaign. In fact, it won't make sense to erect all those
new links in May unless you first burn down a bridge and fashion a fresh,
fortified boundary.

Horoscope

TAURUS (April 20-May 20): Among medieval alchemists, there were some
who tried to make a fortune by literally converting lead into gold. But the
authentic practitioners of the art were interested in a subtler kind of
experimentation: ripening and beautifying the shadowy aspects of their
own psyches. That explains their motto: "For a tree's branches to reach
to heaven, its roots must reach to hell." Among other things, that means
you have to dig deep and work hard on redeeming your less flattering
qualities in order to earn the right to exalted states of consciousness and
spiritual powers. The coming weeks will be an excellent time for you to
carry out this alchemy.
